Weekends that feel like they last a long time are always a nice treat after a long, hard week of work;nbsp;nbsp;in spite of the fact that many people have this wish, however, the weekends usually seem like they are the fastest part of the week! If you are looking for a way to slow time down during the weekends, follow these tips to find yourself enjoying much longer weekends! p /One of the reasons why people often feel like their weekends disappear so quickly is because they have no variation in what they do during the weekend; they sit around and relax throughout both days (and all three nights) thinking this will make their weekend feel longer, but it actually ends up making their weekends disappear, because nothing significant happens all weekend! p /@@ADSENSE@@. p /Every weekend, you should make it your goal to create a minimum of two significant memories – and one of these memories should be at night, while another one should be during the day (either on Saturday or Sunday). p /Contrary to what many imagine to be the best approach for prolonging the weekend, you should also use part of the weekend (either Saturday morning or Sunday morning) for your yard work and other home improvement activities,nbsp;as this will actually make your days feel much longer due to the fact that you are creating variation. p /And lastly, you need to make sure you are making the most of your Sundays; it can be easy to spend Sunday thinking of it as the last day before you have to go back to work, but instead of spending Sunday thinking about work, you should use it for some significant relaxation that will make it something to look forward to each week! p /When you start to make significant memories during your weekends, start to vary what you do throughout the weekends, and start to use your Sundays well,nbsp;you will find that your weekends are getting stretched out so that they feel much longer than they felt before. p /@@ADSENSE@@.

The idea of being a writer holds great appeal for a lot of people – either because they have been strongly influenced by literature in their own life, or even simply because they think it would be fun to sit at home all day and write – but one thing that many people find once they begin writing is that it is not quite as easy as they thought it would be to come up with story ideas on a consistent basis; there is, of course, no magic key that will help you come up with great story ideas (if there were, we would have a lot more successful writers than we have!), but there are a few things you can keep in mind to help yourself come up with great story ideas. p /If you closely examine most of the good books you have had the pleasure of reading (or even at most of the good short stories that have thrilled you), you will probably realize that most of these stories have good characters in them; because of this, you should make sure you are spending enough time around people that you get to know and understand them – and, you should start figuring out what helps you to develop good, believable characters! p /@@ADSENSE@@. p /As you learn to come up with good characters, and to build your stories around these good characters, another thing you should start looking for is story ideas that are unique and original; when you look at books in the bookstore, you will find that there are a lot of books that have the same general concepts, but what you do not see is that for every one of these books on the shelf, there are thousands of similar books that did not get published.nbsp; Instead of writing the same things that everyone else is writing – trying to get your work noticed amidst the noise of all the others – you will be able to increase your chances of success (both as far as publication goes, and as far as readership goes) by coming up with ideas that are unique and original. p /And along the same lines as trying to develop unique and original story ideas (and even more important!) is that you need to be fearless; do not worry about failure, but rather, be willing to try new things, and to keep chasing success until you finally succeed! p /@@ADSENSE@@.

If reading is something you enjoy, one thing that will probably be important to you will be that your children enjoy reading as well, but even beyond the simple desire for your children to enjoy reading, you should realize that reading is extremely important, and you will do your child a big favor if you help them learn how to read before it is absolutely necessary for them to be able to do so; if you are trying to help your children learn how to read, here are a few things you can keep in mind that will help you. p /When you first begin to help your children learn how to read, it will be important that you begin with the fundamentals, remembering that your children do not yet have the building blocks necessary to be accomplished readers; help them understand the functions of the different letters in the alphabet, beginning with the words that they can sound out, and moving on to the ldquo;sight words,rdquo; that they will have to simply know instead of being able to sound out. p /As your child starts to become more comfortable with reading, it will be good for you to offer them plenty of help, but you should also realize that it will be important for them to start figuring things out on their own; the best way to do this is to sit with them while they read, but to allow them to work through all the little problem areas on their own. p /@@ADSENSE@@. p /And finally, when it comes to getting your children to learn how to read, the most important thing of all will be making reading seem fun, as your children are much more likely to want to pick up their books and practice reading if it seems like fun instead of seeming like a task; make sure your children see you reading, and make sure you convey to them how wonderful reading can be ndash; and then, make reading a reward for them, instead of making it something they ldquo;have to dordquo; each day. p /When you take this approach to teaching your children how to read, you will soon find that they are picking it up more and more, and you will find that they are wanting to read instead of viewing it as a task or a chore! p /@@ADSENSE@@.

For anyone who has ever had a desire to write a novel, one of the hardest parts can actually be just knowing where to start. And while you might hear people say, Just sit down and write, this is not always the best way to get started. After all, the story you plan to write will probably need more continuity than you could achieve by going with a just sit down and write approach if you want the novel to eventually be published. p /Of course, the first thing you need – even before you start writing your novel – is the seed of an idea. The idea does not need to be fully-developed or even complete when you get started, but it needs to be in place, as it will be your launch point. It will be time to start populating the story with fully-developed characters after you have come up with the seed of the idea. Three-dimensional characters can turn a mediocre story into a good story and a good story into a great story – which is why this step is so important. Plus, having characters who feel three-dimensional – and who you truly enjoy – will make it much easier for you to sit down and write each day! p /@@AMAZONWIDGET;novel writing;1000@@. p /Once you have these elements in place, you will be ready to start your story – but this does not necessarily mean start writing. Sometimes, all it really means to start the story is to figure out where the story will start – to figure out where you will go next. It is not necessary to plan out the entire novel from the get-go, as this can make the story feel too stilted anyway – but you should have a general idea. And as you dive into the writing, make sure this general idea of where the story is going is flexible enough that it can change. In this way, you will be able to let the story take you forward, instead of trying to direct the whole thing yourself! p /It can be an immensely rewarding experience, when you write a novel – and you will be that much closer to completing it well once you know how to get started properly!
