Friday, May 11th, 2012

Anyone who is an ocean lover or a snorkeling and scuba enthusiast is surely familiar with the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. But even if you are neither an ocean lover nor a scuba or snorkeling enthusiast, chances are pretty good that you are still familiar with the Great Barrier Reef. After all, not only is the Great Barrier Reef the single largest structure made of living organisms, but it can also be seen from outer space! p /div style=margin: 5 0 5 0; text-align: center;img style=max-width: 100%; src=http://www.autopowerblogs.com/blogImages/04db101d234566.JPG alt=image //div p /Because of the great breadth of sea life that calls the Great Barrier Reef home, and because of the volatility of coral reefs, this reef is very well protected. But even with all of the protection in place, there are places where you can visit the reef for snorkeling and scuba diving. p /You will find the Great Barrier Reef in the Coral Sea, off the northeast coast of Australia. If you want to visit the Great Barrier Reef, you will need to travel to Queensland in Australia, and you will be able to access the reef by boat from there. p /Because of the popularity of the Great Barrier Reef as a tourist destination, it is easy to find lodging of all sorts along the coast. You can find five-star lodging that will give you everything you want in the way of luxury, and you can find basic lodging with which you can save a lot of money. The same goes for food as well, as you can find restaurants that cater to both big spenders and to those who have come on a budget. p /@@AMAZONWIDGET;scuba;599872@@. p /When you take a trip out into the reef, you will witness some of the most diverse sea life collected in a single area. Not only will you come across normal reef animals, but you will also come across a variety of dolphins and whales, several species of sea turtles, and even a number of endangered species! Additionally, you will swim across sharks and stingrays, and if you bring an underwater camera, you are certain to get some priceless shots. p /If you are traveling from the States, The Great Barrier Reef is a long trip; but it is also well worth it, especially if you have a desire to experience some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the world!

The Five Moral Restraints of Yoga

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

div style=margin: 5 0 5 0; text-align: center;img style=max-width: 640px; src=http://www.autopowerblogs.com/blogImages/24d7e4eb0bfcea.jpg alt=image //div p /If yoursquo;ve begun a serious yoga practice, yoursquo;ll want to incorporate the yamasmdash;the five moral restraintsmdash;into your daily practice. Personalize each of the five restraints such that it applies to you and your particular situations. Consider these five restraints as you go through your asana (yoga poses), and then seek to carry these principles with you throughout the day. p /The very first yama is referred to as ahimsa, which means practice of non-violence. You might interpret this to mean being kind towards your boss, a fellow employee, another person rushing for the subway, or a family member. You might decide to hold your temper in a trying situation or perhaps you will project this attitude outward in a conscious effort to be kind towards all people. p /The second yama is satya, or commitment to truthfulness. This may be truthfulness with others, or it may be an issue of being true to yourself and living authentically. You might embrace this principle by speaking words of truth or by honoring your integrity and the integrity of others. p /The third yama is asteya, or refusal to steal. This can be anything as small as not reporting a bank error or as big as not stealing a coworkerrsquo;s ideas. You may decide the best way to implement this yama is to only use as much as you truly need, preserving resources so others may also have enough, and thereby honoring the earth and its inhabitants. p /Fourth on the list is called brahmacarya, which has to do with moderation. You may wish to examine your life for examples of overindulgence or underindulgence to try to find the happy medium of a moderate life. By living moderately and avoiding extremes, you will have the energy and resources to give to others. p /The last yama is aparigrapha, or refusal to hoard for oneself. This principle leads us to never hoard our possessions, but to give freely, sharing with others in need. p /The five moral restraints, or yamas, will lead you to enlightenment, especially if practiced in conjunction with the niyamas. p /@@AMAZONWIDGET;yoga;1000@@. p /@@AMAZONWIDGET;yoga;130@@. p /@@AMAZONWIDGET;yoga;195208011@@. p /@@AMAZONWIDGET;yoga;1079730@@.

Using Pool Games To Enjoy Your Pool

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

A pool can be a lot of fun during the summer, but it can also be easy to run out of things to do in the pool (after all, lounging by the pool and getting sun or exercising in the pool can only be taken so far!). One great way to make sure you (and your family, and your guests) get the most out of your pool during the summer is to use the pool to play some games; if you are thinking you might need some new pool games, here are a few to keep in mind. p /div style=margin: 5 0 5 0; text-align: center;img style=max-width: 100%; src=http://www.autopowerblogs.com/blogImages/24dd2033ccbbf3.jpg alt=image //div p /Marco Polo: Marco Polo is the old standby of pool games, as it can be played in any pool, with any number of people; one person is it in Marco Polo, and the game is played much like tag – with the exception that the person who is it is not allowed to open their eyes! With their eyes closed, the person calls out Marco, and everyone else in the pool calls out Polo; the person who is it uses the Polo calls of others to discern their position in the pool and try to tag them! p /Volleyball: A @@AMAZONTEXT;B00005BKZ5;pool volleyball set@@ can be one of the greatest investments you can make for your pool, as you can set up a game with as few as two people and as many as 10 or 12; get everybody into the pool on a warm afternoon, set up the net, and watch the fun unfold! p /Basketball: Just like pool volleyball, pool basketball can be played with a varying number of people; the investment in a @@AMAZONTEXT;B000MOHK0W;pool basketball goal@@ will be well worth it, as you, your family, and your friends are sure to get lots of use out of it! p /Use your creativity: Finally, realize that you can turn just about any object or idea into the centerpiece for a pool game;nbsp;collect the pool toys you have in your pool shed, and come up with a game that will be easy to learn and easy to play; when you do this, everyone is sure to have a great time!p /
