Laser Hair Removal System – How Does it Work?

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

Historically, hair removal has been one of the most painful tasks that a person must undertake. Think about all of the pain and trauma you go through every time you pluck a nose hair, cut yourself while shaving, or rip the hairs out of their follicles with a waxing. It makes many cringe just to think about pulling out one of their hairs.

But what if you didn’t have to deal with all of that pain anymore? What if there was a better way to remove your hair?

Well, there is and it’s called a laser hair removal system. The newly invented laser hair removal process is a technology that removes hair in a completely painless fashion through the use of lasers. No more pulling, no more waxing. Those days are done, thanks to the new laser hair removal systems that have been developed by doctors and health professionals from around the country.

While this new procedure is not available everywhere just yet, there are a variety of cities that do offer laser hair removal procedures. Among them are Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. Although other cosmetic treatments may be linked to cities like Los Angeles and New York, Chicago is one of the most prominent places for laser hair removal systems.

Are you interested in learning how laser hair removal works?

When discussing hair removal, the most important thing is that the follicle and the bulb (or root) of the hair is removed. Otherwise the hair will just grow right back. Look at shaving, for example. You just cut the tops off of the hair, allowing it to grow right back the next day, the day after that, and so on.

However, with the laser hair removal process, you don’t need to worry about your hair growing back immediately. The laser focuses its light directly into the hair follicle without causing any damage or pain to your skin. Essentially, the laser vaporizes the follicle, allowing the hair to simply fall out without allowing it to return for weeks, months, or even years on end. The ultra high tech laser hair removal system is a great way to get rid of those bothersome hairs that have been pestering you for far too long.

The laser hair removal system can be a complex, yet effective treatment for unwanted hair.

Laser Hair Removal System – The Different Types of Laser Hair Removal

Tuesday, March 13th, 2012

The concept of using a laser in order to remove hair has been popular for the past two decades. You may not be aware that there are several different types of laser hair removal that people are taking advantage of. They offer a fast and painless way to remove unwanted hair for both men and women. The process lasts longer and it isn’t painful like electrolysis or waxing. Laser hair removal is considered to be a permanent solution to unwanted hair instead of a temporary one like the alternatives.

With the process of laser hair removal small amounts of radiation are administered to the area with a beam of heated light. This results in the hair follicles being damaged to the point where they can no longer allow new hair to grow. Occasionally a few hairs do come back but they are after very few, thin, and very light so they won’t be as obvious as they were prior to the laser hair removal.

The first laser hair removal system was called Nd:YAG – while others existed this was the first one approved for use by the FDA. This particular process required the individual to have the area waxed first, which is quite painful. Next a heated lotion was applied to the hair follicles so that they would be damaged. The skin around the area was not harmed.

For individuals with very light skin the Ruby Laser is the best option. It can also be use at low levels for those with darker skin with out causing damage to the pigment. This is a painless type of laser for hair removal. It is common used to remove small amounts of hair.

For larger patches of hair the Alexandrite Laser is recommended. It can is able to penetrate the hairs that are very coarse as well. This is the most common type of laser treatment used on men. The entire back can be cleared of hair in 45 minutes or less. Some technicians rely on the Diode Laser because it is the least expensive one and it can be used on various types of skin.

The newest type of laser hair removal equipment on the market is the Cool Glide. This is a very expensive piece of equipment as well. It has been known to effectively treat even dark skin without any time of damage. The tip of it is refrigerated so that it offers a cool touch as the work is being done. This is also safer than lasers that use heat to harm the hair follicles because they could damage the skin.

Laser Hair Removal Reviews and Prices

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Laser hair removal works by producing hear in the hair follicles which sends a signal to the hair follicle to go into the resting phase called (telogen). The laser is not like what you see on the movie screen as it is just a pulsating light that flashes every couple of seconds.

The hardest part about laser hair removal is targeting the hair shaft without damaging the melanin pigment on the surface of the skin. When the pigment of the skin is effected it can result in temporary pigment changes which will either lighten or darken your skin. Most doctors have several different types of lasers that pulsate a little differently to help accommodate your natural skin color.

Usually a set of 4-6 treatments are given over a period of four to eight week intervals depending on the treatment area. If after the normal 4-6 treatments there is still unwanted hair in the treatment area, subsequent treatments are administered over even longer intervals than the regular four to eight week intervals.

After only one treatment the hair in the treatment area is greatly reduced in the amount of thickness for a very long period of time. It is rare for the first treatment to get rid of all the hair altogether. Maintenance treatments are usually always required which are spaced out in long intervals. As with anything else, the frequency of maintenance treatments can vary considerably from person to person.

The reason you need more than just one treatment is because hair grows in cycles. After a laser hair removal treatment, hairs that are cycles to grow will grow because they were not present at the time of treatment. That’s why multiple treatments are the most effective because over time all the hair follicles in your skin will cycle, grow, and then get zapped at the time of treatment. By doing multiple treatments you can make sure that all your hair follicles are subjected to the laser treatment and are made dormant.
