Asking For A Refund

on Sunday, March 4th, 2012

If you are returning an item to a store, have a receipt, and are within the stated return period, you will not have any problem getting a refund for that item, but on the other hand, there are a lot of situations where getting a refund is not quite as simple. If you have eaten at a restaurant where the food was no good, or if you were skiing on a mountain that was mostly closed off due to bad weather, or if you are going on vacation and have been delayed because of bad weather in the area, or if you are facing any other such situation, you will probably feel that you are entitled to at least a partial refund ndash; and because there are no set rules that govern such situations, it will be important for you to know the proper approach to take in asking for a refund. p /Many people immediately get aggressive when they are looking for a refund, and this causes the person from whom they are asking for a refund to go on the defensive; instead of doing this, you should always put yourself on the same side as the person from whom you are asking for the refund, stating to them that you understand that it puts them in a poor place to give you a refund, but that you also know they can appreciate the situation you are in. p /@@ADSENSE@@. p /Make sure you are taking a suggestive approach instead of a questioning approach when you start talking to the person from whom you are seeking a refund; this means that rather than asking them if they agree with you on certain things, you should speak as if you already understand that they agree with you, as this will make them more likely to take your side. p /And when you take this approach of being polite and friendly, you may find that they feel you are a pushover; because of this, it is extremely important that you are able to stand your ground, holding on to what you feel you deserve as far as a refund goes, and sticking with this until they finally come around and meet you at the point where you’re hoping for them to meet you! p /@@ADSENSE@@.
